Cedar Pointe, OH with the Getz's
This past August we went to Cedar Pointe with the Getz's. Cedar Pointe is an amusement park located in Ohio right on Lake Erie. They have some of the best roller coasters in the world and it's a 5 hour drive from Grand Rapids, MI. Jess and Nancy Getz had rented a "cottage" for the weekend right in the amusement park. The cottage was located right on Lake Erie and was just perfect! We had a swimming pool and play area right across the street and we could easily take a break from the park and relax on the deck. The weather was wonderful and we had a blast. One of the highlights was going on the Rip Cord, a bungee style ride that the kids and I tried. Luckily we had Stefan with us and he agreed to pull the rip cord. No fear in that boy.
Halloween 2005
Here are a few Halloween photos of the kids. Stefan was a University of Michigan football player. (Please note the Heisman Trophy pose). Elan was Miss Couch Potato and cousin Christian was Legolas from Lord of the Rings. Max Homrich was dressed up as a scary skeleton and Alivia was dressed up as a Care-Bear. Special thanks to Andrea and Dave who had us over for a great chicken chili dinner before trick-or-treating! We were fortunate to have very mild temperatures while the kids were out, with just a little bit of rain at the tail end.
Hiking with the Homriches
On October 29, 2005 I took the kids hiking on some trails about 10 miles from our house. We picked up Dave Homrich and 2 of his kids (Max and Alivia) in addition to Andrew Stallmer, Stefan's best friend. The weather was great and we finished our hike with a trip to Robinette's Orchard for some fresh cider and pumpkin spice donuts.
